Our Engagement Process
How Poplar Field Consulting works with small manufacturers — from first enquiry to delivered report and follow-up.
Every engagement follows the same clear stages. You always know what happens next and who you are speaking with.
Step 1 — Enquiry and scope
You contact us by form, email, or phone. We ask about your products, staff count, shift pattern, and the main issue you want examined. This takes one email exchange or a 20-minute phone call. We confirm which consultation fits and provide a written quote within two business days.
Step 2 — Date confirmation
Once you accept the quote, we send a calendar invite and a short preparation checklist. For on-site visits, we confirm a contact person, safety requirements (closed-toe shoes, induction if needed), and the production window we will observe. A deposit may be requested for first-time Efficiency Assessment bookings.
Step 3 — On-site or remote session
Our consultant arrives at the agreed time — typically before your main production window. We observe, take notes, and speak with your team at natural break points. We do not halt production unless you ask us to. Remote scheduling reviews follow the same rigour via screen-shared boards and recorded walk-throughs if you film the floor.
Step 4 — Analysis and report
Findings are compiled within three to five business days depending on the consultation type. Reports are plain-language PDFs with photographs where relevant. Every recommendation is tied to an observed behaviour or layout condition — not generic industry advice.
Step 5 — Delivery and follow-up
Reports are emailed to your nominated contact. Efficiency Assessments include a 30-minute follow-up call to walk through priorities. Other consultations include a brief phone briefing. You decide what to implement and when — we do not pressure ongoing engagements.
Step 6 — Optional return visits
Some clients book seasonal reviews or additional coaching. This is entirely optional. We follow up once by email six weeks after delivery to ask if you have questions. No automated drip campaigns.
